Job Summary
This role is for an Engineer specializing in Process Analysis and Gas Chromatography within the chemical industry. You will be the functional expert for process analysis systems, ensuring their availability, strategic development, and optimization. Key responsibilities include maintenance, troubleshooting, error analysis, and the continuous improvement of process chromatographs and analytical devices. You will also be involved in analysis projects, supporting investment projects, and creating documentation and work instructions. The position requires a strong analytical mindset, structured working style, and collaboration with various internal departments and external service providers. Required Skills
Education
State-certified technician, master craftsman, or equivalent degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering and Automation Technology. Additional training in Gas Chromatography is advantageous. Electrical industry master craftsman/technician training or electrical engineering vocational training with many years of professional experience and extensive knowledge in process analytics.
Experience
- 5 years of experience in the maintenance of (petro-)chemical industrial plants (plants subject to monitoring according to the Ordinance on Hazardous Incidents)
- Experience with tasks for planning and executing reliability and integrity measures
- Experience with deriving safety requirements from risk assessments
- Experience with gas chromatographs in the context of process analytics in petrochemical plants and corresponding analytical devices such as gas and liquid analyzers, gas warning systems, etc.
- Professional experience in process analytics
- Experience in international companies and ability to work in a matrix organization

- Electrical professional as defined by VDE-0105-100. Participation in 'expert on-call' duty.
