Job Summary

This role involves planning, administration, and development of the network environment, including LAN, WLAN, and structured cabling across multiple locations. You will manage and enhance firewall environments, VPNs, and secure remote access with two-factor authentication. A key part of the job is actively contributing to the IT security process, planning, and executing security-related IT projects. You will also administer and monitor WAN connections, routers, and support patch management for Windows servers. Additionally, you'll handle virus protection, endpoint security solutions, and manage specific Linux systems like Postfix and mail architecture. The position requires a strong background in network technology and firewalls, with a focus on IT security principles and current technologies. Experience with major manufacturers like Check Point, Aruba, and Cisco is essential, as is proficiency in Windows server administration. The role is based in Munich, offering a 39-hour work week on a 24-month fixed-term contract.

Required Skills

Education

Completed training as an IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker:in) or a degree in Computer Science, or comparable, long-standing professional experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in network technology and firewalls
  • Professional experience in network administration (LAN, WLAN, structured cabling)
  • Professional experience in firewall management and VPN
  • Professional experience in Windows server administration (Server, Hyper-V, Exchange, Active Directory, Backup) in an on-premises environment
  • Experience with the architecture and configuration of common manufacturers (e.g., Check Point, Aruba, Cisco)
