Job Summary

This postdoctoral position within the Cluster of Excellence RESOLV focuses on Research Area I, investigating the critical role of solvents in charge and electron transfer processes. You will contribute to cutting-edge research at electrified interfaces, molecular energy conversion, and quantum phenomena, utilizing novel experimental techniques and advanced computational methods. The role involves unraveling solvent impact on non-equilibrium processes, imaging solvents at molecular resolution, and exploring quantum solvation effects. We seek candidates with a doctorate in Chemistry, Chemical Physics, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields, possessing a strong background in interdisciplinary Solvation Science and experience in areas such as theoretical chemistry, spectroscopy, microscopy, or chemical engineering. A solid professional command of English (B2 level) is required.

Required Skills

Education

Doctorate in Chemistry, Chemical Physics, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or comparable subjects.

Experience

  • Professional experience in one of the following disciplines: Theoretical chemistry (simulations, machine learning potentials or electronic structure calculations), bio- or electrocatalysis, synthesis (organic chemistry, coordination chemistry, small reactive intermediates), (time-resolved) spectroscopic techniques, microscopy at interfaces and on surfaces, chemical engineering (thermodynamic measurements and modelling), and ultra-low temperature chemistry.
  • Experience in research within the interdisciplinary field of Solvation Science.
  • Postdoctoral training experience is implied by the role.
