Job Summary

Join the Cluster of Excellence RESOLV as a Postdoctoral Researcher focusing on Research Area II, dedicated to developing sustainable chemical processes through advanced solvent selection and design. You will contribute to creating predictive models by integrating lab automation and AI with expertise in synthesis, spectroscopy, and computations. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of solvation science, exploring areas like organocatalysis, electrosynthesis, and photoredox catalysis. The position is full-time for two years, with payment according to public service wage agreements. We seek candidates with a doctorate in Chemistry, Chemical Physics, Biochemistry, or Chemical Engineering, and experience in synthesis, spectroscopy, theoretical chemistry, or sustainable reaction engineering, coupled with strong English communication skills.

Required Skills

Education

Doctorate in Chemistry, Chemical Physics, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or comparable subjects.

Experience

  • Professional experience in one of the following disciplines: synthesis (organic catalysis, coordination chemistry, electrosynthesis), (time-resolved) laser spectroscopic techniques, theoretical chemistry (simulations or electronic structure calculations), or sustainable reaction engineering.
  • Experience in interdisciplinary research within Solvation Science is highly desirable.
  • Experience in developing overarching guidelines for solvent selection and design.
