Job Summary

The Leibniz Institute for Surface Engineering (IOM) in Leipzig is seeking a Research Scientist to join their interdisciplinary team. This role involves extending global models for simulating plasma discharge chemistry, processing experimental data from plasma discharges, and developing a mechanistic understanding of plasma processes. You will collaborate closely with the team and be responsible for presenting and publishing findings at international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals. The position requires a completed university degree in physics, engineering, mathematics, or computer science, with a preference for a doctoral degree. Essential skills include knowledge of plasma physics and chemistry, goal-oriented work, strong teamwork, and excellent communication abilities. Experience with project support, particularly with industrial partners, is also valued. This is a part-time (28 hours/week) fixed-term position for two years.
