Job Summary
We are seeking an Area Engineer to join our Water Engineering Department (Referat 45) starting August 1, 2026. This full-time role involves managing and implementing water engineering projects across Thuringia, focusing on flood protection, watercourse development, and the maintenance of existing water management facilities. You will be responsible for conceptualizing projects, creating necessary conditions for their realization, and contributing to permit procedures with expert opinions. The position requires a university degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or Water Management, or a related engineering field with specialized knowledge. Strong project management skills, IT proficiency (Office, databases), and a driver's license are essential. Required Skills
Education
Completed university or technical college degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or Water Management; or an alternative engineering degree with in-depth knowledge in Water Engineering or Water Management.
Experience
- Professional experience in project management
- Professional experience in water engineering or water management (if degree is in a related field)
- Experience in project leadership (advantageous)
