Job Summary

We are seeking a service-oriented Electrician for Operational Technology to join the Technical Building Management department at Ruhr University Bochum. In this full-time, permanent role, you will be responsible for maintaining the technical infrastructure of the university, ensuring the operational safety of systems for teaching and research. Your day-to-day tasks will include performing maintenance, inspections, and repairs on safety-related systems, executing switching operations within the low-voltage network, and supporting modernization projects. The ideal candidate possesses a completed vocational training as an Electrician in Energy and Building Technology or as an Electronics Technician for Operational Technology, with professional experience highly desired. You should have a strong understanding of technical building equipment, relevant regulations (DIN-VDE, BGV-UVV), and good IT skills. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a large, dynamic university environment.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Electrician (Fachrichtung Energie- und Gebäudetechnik) or Electronics Technician (Fachrichtung Betriebstechnik).

Experience

  • Professional experience as an Electrician (Energy and Building Technology) or Electronics Technician (Operational Technology) is expressly desired.
  • Experience in the maintenance, inspection, and repair of safety-related systems and components.
  • Experience with technical building equipment (TGA), including building automation and contactor switching.
  • Experience with low-voltage network switching operations.
  • Experience supporting modernization measures within technical building equipment.
