Job Summary
The Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society is seeking an IT System Administrator to join the Joint Network Center (GNZ) in Berlin-Dahlem. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation, administration, and monitoring of virtualization, storage, and backup environments. You will play a key role in a major technology transition, actively participating in the design and implementation of new infrastructure. The position involves supporting Linux-based systems, troubleshooting, and ensuring high-quality documentation. Required Skills
Education
Completed degree in IT or a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT system administration, specifically in Linux-based environments
- Experience in managing virtualization platforms and modern storage architectures
- Demonstrated experience in enterprise backup and restore concepts
- Experience in network infrastructure design and maintenance
- Experience with Proxmox VE, VMware, or Veeam is considered an asset
- Experience in automation, API usage, and scripting
