Job Summary
The Max Planck Institute for Medical Research is seeking a part-time (19.5 hours/week) Chemical Safety Management Assistant to join their team in Heidelberg. In this role, you will play a vital part in the safe handling and management of hazardous substances. Your day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining an efficient chemical inventory, monitoring stock levels, and providing expert support to scientific departments regarding hazardous material protocols. You will also manage the sorting, destruction, and professional disposal of chemicals while advising management on regulatory compliance. Additionally, you will support the warehouse and goods receipt operations as needed. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a background in natural sciences who thrives in a research-focused, international environment. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training in a scientific field, such as Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA), Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), or Chemical Laboratory Technician.
Experience
- Professional experience in a natural science or laboratory setting
- Experience in chemical inventory management or hazardous material handling is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and maintain meticulous records

Additional
- Valid work permit for Germany required. Willingness to undergo further professional training.
