Job Summary
As a Protection Technician / Commissioning Engineer at COLONIA Elektromontagen, you will play a vital role in the lifecycle of power supply systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities include configuring and testing protection devices in medium-voltage systems, testing current and voltage transformers, and calculating protection settings using network calculation software to ensure optimal grid selectivity. You will also manage the configuration of low-voltage circuit breakers, perform on-site measurements, and lead the full commissioning process of power supply systems, including final documentation. This role requires a strong technical background in electrical engineering and a proactive, analytical mindset. You will work on diverse and challenging projects, providing you with the opportunity to apply your expertise in protection and control technology across various voltage levels in a professional and collaborative environment.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training or degree as a Master Technician (Meister), Technician (Techniker), or Engineer (Ingenieur) in the field of Electrical Engineering.
Experience
- Professional experience in the commissioning of switchgear and power supply systems
- Practical experience with medium-voltage systems and electrical distribution networks
- Demonstrated proficiency in using specialized engineering and testing software for electrical protection
- Experience in developing technical system solutions
