Job Summary
This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Bacteriophage Research Group at the University Hospital Frankfurt, focusing on translational research in clinical infectiology. As a PhD student, you will conduct cutting-edge research on bacteriophages, including efficacy testing against clinical bacterial isolates and investigating phage-antibiotic combinations. Your daily responsibilities will involve molecular biological characterization, bioinformatic analysis of sequencing data, and studying phage-matrix interactions in human samples. You will also perform cell culture experiments, contribute to the development of diagnostic phage-based detection methods, and maintain the laboratory's phage bank. The position requires a highly motivated individual with a Master's degree in Microbiology and a strong background in phage biology. You will be responsible for planning and documenting experiments, publishing scientific papers, and assisting in grant applications.
