Job Summary
The University Hospital Düsseldorf (UKD) is seeking a Head of Data Center Infrastructure (Sachgebietsleiter Rechenzentrum Basis) to lead their IT operations team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the stable operation, strategic development, and capacity planning of the hospital's data centers, including on-premise, external, and cloud environments. You will lead a dedicated team, manage IT projects ranging from migrations to modernization, and ensure compliance with high availability and safety standards. You will also collaborate closely with various clinical departments and manage external service providers. This position is ideal for an experienced IT professional who is passionate about leveraging technology to improve patient care within a stable, public-sector environment. Required Skills
Education
Completed academic degree (Master's/Diploma) in Computer Science or a comparable field, or a Bachelor's degree/Diploma (FH), or completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker) with relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in data center operations and infrastructure management
- Proven leadership experience in managing IT teams
- Demonstrated experience in project management within an IT environment
- Experience with ITIL frameworks and service management processes

Additional
- Full-time position (38.5 hours/week) with flexible working hours. Must be eligible to work in Germany. Role involves coordination with internal and external stakeholders and adherence to public sector standards.
