As an AI & Automation Engineer at this growing mechanical engineering firm, you will move beyond theoretical concepts to build and deploy functional, scalable AI solutions. This role is for a pragmatic builder who thrives in a small, dynamic environment (approx. 50 employees) rather than a corporate enterprise setting. Your day-to-day work involves identifying operational bottlenecks, automating workflows, and integrating AI into the company's existing Windows-based infrastructure. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of AI agents, from RAG-pipeline development and vector database management to secure local deployment of LLMs. Success in this role requires a hands-on approach, deep technical competence in system integration (APIs, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SharePoint), and the ability to navigate data privacy and compliance independently. You will work directly with leadership, ensuring that your technical contributions have a tangible, immediate impact on the company's growth and operational efficiency.
