Job Summary

As a Reservoir Engineer for the GEO4Berlin project, you will play a pivotal role in Berlin's transition to climate neutrality by 2045. You will be responsible for optimizing deep geothermal reservoirs to ensure a sustainable and reliable CO₂-neutral heat supply. Your day-to-day tasks include creating complex thermohydrodynamic models, forecasting long-term production performance, and developing pressure management strategies. You will plan and monitor hydraulic tests, oversee reservoir performance, and manage well operations to prevent issues like scaling. Working within an interdisciplinary team of geologists, geophysicists, and process engineers, you will provide critical technical expertise to minimize risks and maximize resource efficiency. This position is ideal for a highly specialized professional looking to contribute to a landmark municipal project with significant environmental impact, offering the stability of public sector employment in Berlin.

Required Skills

Education

Completed Master's degree or Diploma in Geosciences, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering, Physics, Process Engineering, or Applied Mathematics.

Experience

  • Several years of relevant professional experience in reservoir engineering or a closely related technical field is mandatory.
  • Proven expertise in numerical simulation or flow modeling beyond academic studies.
  • Professional experience in geothermal energy, hydrogeology, or geomechanics.
