Job Summary

As a Flood Control Engineer for the cities of Borken and Velen, you will play a vital role in protecting the community by developing and implementing sustainable flood protection strategies. Your daily responsibilities include managing the Bocholter Aa flood protection concept, coordinating water framework directive measures, and maintaining flood warning systems with an emphasis on digitalization. You will also conduct risk analyses based on heavy rainfall hazard maps, contribute to climate resilience strategies, and manage stakeholder relations with agricultural bodies and landowners. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor, Master, or Diploma) in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering, preferably with a specialization in Water Management.

Experience

  • Experience in water management or flood protection is preferred
  • Experience in stakeholder coordination and public communication
