Universität Göttingen
Job Summary
This role involves conducting advanced research on long non-coding (lnc)RNAs within a prestigious microbiology and genetics institute at the University of Göttingen. As a PhD student, you will investigate the regulatory functions of lncRNAs using the model organism Saccharomyces cerevisiae and human cell cultures. Your day-to-day work will encompass a diverse range of laboratory techniques, including genetics, cell biology (e.g., GFP-fluorescence microscopy, live cell imaging), molecular biology (e.g., cloning, qPCR, RNA-Seq), and biochemistry (e.g., protein purification, Co-IPs). You will be part of an international, collaborative research team and will participate in the structured GAUSS doctoral program. This position is ideal for a motivated scientist looking to contribute to the understanding of RNA-related diseases like cancer and neurodegeneration in a high-impact, academic environment.
