Job Summary

As a Scientific Staff Member (IT and Infrastructure) at the Federal Institute of Hydrology (BfG), you will lead the 'Scientific Computing and Infrastructure' unit, managing a team of seven in IT administration and support. Your day-to-day responsibilities include acting as a data architect to design and maintain the institute's information systems, managing enterprise architecture by modeling interfaces between scientific applications, and overseeing quality management for all internal and external data products. You will represent the BfG in federal administrative committees and coordinate scientific data management across departments. This role is ideal for a candidate with a background in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, or Engineering who is ready to take on leadership responsibilities. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, Geosciences, Engineering, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in scientific computing, scientific data management, or enterprise architecture management.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience or aptitude for managing technical teams.
  • Experience in representing organizational interests in inter-agency or scientific committees.
