Job Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to qualify as a certified inspector (Prüfsachverständiger) for railway infrastructure. You will undergo a multi-year development program, gaining expertise in either signaling and control technology or electrical systems. Your day-to-day will involve analyzing complex technical plans, verifying system compliance with safety standards, and conducting on-site acceptance inspections of railway infrastructure like signal boxes and power supply units. You will work closely with experienced mentors to prepare for independent certification. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys complex technical systems, is comfortable making safety-critical decisions, and wants to play a key role in major European rail projects. The role requires a structured approach to documentation and the ability to communicate technical findings clearly to stakeholders.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, Telecommunications, Automation/Control Engineering, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in electrical engineering through internships, student work, or academic projects.
  • Interest in managing safety-relevant technical responsibilities.
  • Experience in collaborating within project environments.

German (Fluent)

  • Valid driver's license (Class B) required. Willingness to travel regionally and occasionally nationally for inspections. Availability for night and weekend work during track closures. Must be eligible to work in Germany.
