Job Summary

This role involves managing software development projects and overseeing the build and release management for the NIVADIS VBS system used by the Lower Saxony Police. You will be responsible for software packaging (RPM/MSI), planning and coordinating releases, and steering migrations within the product portfolio. The position requires a mix of technical expertise in Linux, XML, and build tools, alongside project management capabilities. You will work in an interdisciplinary team in Hannover-Lahe, contributing to the digital transformation of police infrastructure. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys analytical problem-solving and wants to work in a secure, public-sector environment that emphasizes professional development, work-life balance, and long-term career stability.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Computer Science or related IT field (e.g., Mathematics, Information Technology) OR completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker) with a focus on System Integration.

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT required (minimum 4 years if no degree or vocational training)
  • 2 years of professional experience in IT (if holding a completed IT-related vocational qualification)
  • Professional experience in IT project management
  • Professional experience in software packaging and release management

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Must be able to obtain security clearance for police systems. Proficiency in German (B2 level) is mandatory. Ability to work in Hannover-Lahe. Willingness to acquire missing technical skills independently.
