Job Summary
The Lower Saxony Police Department is seeking an IT Forensics Specialist to join the Forensic Department in Hameln. In this role, you will conduct forensic investigations, including data recovery, analysis, and evidence preservation from diverse hardware and network environments. You will support law enforcement operations during searches, provide expert testimony in court, and advise investigative teams on technical procedures. The position requires a strong technical background in IT systems, operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), and forensic methodologies. Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's or Diploma degree in Information Technology (e.g., Computer Science, Business Informatics), Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or a degree in 'General and Digital Forensics'; alternatively, a completed vocational training as an IT Specialist or IT System Electronics Technician.
Experience
- At least 1 year of practical experience in Information and Communication Technology for university graduates
- Professional experience in IT and communication technology for vocational training graduates

- Must be willing to undergo a Level 2 (Secret) security clearance including household members; valid work permit for Germany; full-time availability (39.8 hours/week); readiness for occasional work outside standard hours if operationally necessary.
