Job Summary

This role involves providing technical support for the 'NA-WIR' project, focused on new medicinal plants and active ingredients. You will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, and sampling of field and greenhouse experiments. Daily tasks include conducting molecular biological work such as DNA isolation, PCR, cloning, and sequencing, as well as performing cytological examinations and microscopy. You will also document trials, manage sample processing, and perform cross-breeding series. This position is ideal for someone with a background in biology or laboratory technology who enjoys both field and laboratory work. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to agricultural research within an international environment at the Julius Kühn-Institut. You will work independently and as part of a team, ensuring high-quality documentation and methodological accuracy in a research-driven setting.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Technical Assistant, Biology Laboratory Technician, or equivalent qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in laboratory or technical assistance roles
  • Practical experience in field trial management
  • Several years of professional experience in a relevant technical or biological field

Additional

  • Valid driver's license (Class B) required. Willingness to travel for business purposes. This is a fixed-term, full-time position until January 1, 2027, with the possibility of extension. Work permit for Germany is required.
