Job Summary
The Institute of Molecular Medicine and Experimental Immunology (IMMEI) at the University Hospital Bonn is seeking a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA/MTA/CTA) to join the research group of Prof. Dr. Zeinab Abdullah. This role focuses on chronic liver inflammation research, requiring a blend of technical laboratory support and animal research management. Day-to-day responsibilities include handling transgenic mouse models, performing flow cytometric profiling, managing mammalian cell cultures, and supporting scientists with various in vitro and in vivo experiments. Additionally, the role involves maintaining laboratory SOPs and providing technical training to PhD and Master's students. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a BTA, MTA, CTA, or equivalent, or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, immunology, or a related life science field. PhD holders are not eligible.
Experience
- Professional experience in laboratory research and experimental support
- Hands-on experience with flow cytometry, including sample acquisition and data analysis
- Practical experience in animal handling, specifically in vivo injection techniques and organ processing
- Experience in mammalian cell culture and standard molecular biology techniques
- Experience in mouse colony maintenance and processing human samples is considered an asset

- FELASA B certification for animal work is required or must be obtained. This position is subject to the German TV-L salary scale.
