Job Summary

This role as a PLC Technician offers a unique opportunity for automation experts to transition into a support-focused position with minimal travel. Based in the Gleisdorf area, you will join a dedicated SPS-Support team, initially working in a hybrid model that transitions to 100% remote work. Your day-to-day responsibilities include providing 2nd-level remote support, troubleshooting and repairing customer systems via remote access, and developing or optimizing control software using Siemens TIA Portal and Simatic Manager. You will also manage system upgrades and software updates for existing clients. The position is ideal for experienced automation engineers or commissioning technicians who wish to reduce their travel commitments while maintaining a high level of technical responsibility. You will work closely with internal departments and client technicians, ensuring reliable system performance through proactive support and occasional on-site project work.

Required Skills

Education

Completed technical education (Apprenticeship, HTL, University of Applied Sciences, or University) in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in PLC programming
  • Professional experience as a commissioning technician
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and reliably in technical support environments
