Job Summary
This role involves joining the Drone Competence and Defense Center (DKAZ) of the Bavarian Riot Police in Erding to support the establishment of a new police department. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of IT infrastructure, including the planning, setup, and operation of secure networks. Your day-to-day duties include configuring routers, switches, and wireless systems, administering Windows and Linux servers, and managing IT hardware and software assets. You will also handle the integration of sensors into existing networks, perform data backups, and provide technical consulting to stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a skilled IT professional with a strong background in system integration and network technology. This position is unique as it offers the chance to work in a multidisciplinary team of police officers, engineers, and programmers in a modern, crisis-proof environment within the public sector.
Required Skills
Education
Completed 3-year vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration, IT Systems Electronics Technician, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT system integration and network administration
- Practical experience in Microsoft server environments
- Experience with radio network protocols and wireless technologies
Languages
Additional
- Valid Class B driver's license required. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, and travel for business. Must meet public service employment requirements; potential for civil servant status (2nd Qualification Level) if criteria are met. Security clearance may be required due to the nature of police work.
