Job Summary

As a Network & Datacenter Engineer, you will join a central infrastructure team dedicated to building, operating, and evolving modern data center and cloud environments. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include the installation and maintenance of server, storage, and networking hardware, as well as managing critical facility components like power, cooling, and physical security. You will actively participate in 2nd and 3rd level support, troubleshoot system performance, and implement robust security measures, including firewalls and encryption. Furthermore, you will drive automation using tools like Ansible and Terraform, manage hybrid cloud environments (Azure), and contribute to disaster recovery planning. This role is ideal for a structured, hands-on professional who thrives in a project-based environment, values clear processes, and is eager to work with innovative technologies while ensuring compliance with standards like ISO 27001 and GDPR.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in IT, vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration (Fachinformatiker für Systemintegration), or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in infrastructure or data center environments
  • Experience with hybrid IT architectures and cloud platforms, specifically Azure
  • Practical experience with network security and Fortinet technologies (e.g., FortiGate, FortiManager)
  • Proven experience in implementing and operating backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Experience in process automation and scripting using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Python
