Job Summary
This role involves joining the Hydrology department to maintain and ensure the quality of approximately 12 water level monitoring stations and 130 groundwater monitoring points. You will be responsible for managing the associated communication and measurement technology, processing and validating hydrological time-series data, and contributing to the annual evidence-preservation report. The position requires a mix of office-based data management and consistent field work, often in challenging terrain or during flood events. You will also manage relationships with suppliers, engineering firms, and private station operators, as well as handle procurement and maintenance oversight. This position is ideal for a hands-on technician with strong organizational skills and a commitment to environmental monitoring. The role offers a permanent contract and the opportunity to work in a vital technical field, requiring a high level of independence, technical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Required Skills
Education
State-certified technician (Staatlich geprüfter Techniker) in Electrical Engineering/Measurement and Control Technology or Civil Engineering (or comparable qualification such as Environmental Technical Assistant).
Experience
- Professional experience in electrical engineering, measurement and control technology, or civil engineering
- Experience in technical maintenance and quality assurance of monitoring systems
- Experience in data processing and database management
- Ability and willingness to perform year-round field work in diverse terrain
