Job Summary

As a Project Coordinator for the 'Barn Owl in the Salzach Valley' initiative, you will play a vital role in biodiversity conservation within the region. Your daily responsibilities include monitoring barn owl populations, maintaining nesting sites, and collecting field data to support ongoing conservation efforts. You will act as a key liaison between farmers, volunteers, and project stakeholders, while also identifying habitat structures for potential new nesting sites. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of management strategies, lead public relations efforts, and facilitate workshops and information events. This role is ideal for someone passionate about nature conservation who enjoys a mix of outdoor field work and administrative coordination. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master's or Diploma level) in a natural science field such as Landscape Management, Biology, or Nature Conservation, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in nature conservation, biology, or landscape management
  • Experience in field-based monitoring and data acquisition
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and public communication

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Valid Class B driver's license required; physical ability to work at heights (acrophobia-free) and navigate uneven terrain; willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends; regional travel required within the project area (Traunstein and Berchtesgadener Land).
