Job Summary

The Friedrich Miescher Laboratory (FML) of the Max Planck Society is seeking a full-time Biological Technical Assistant to join the Aztekin Lab, which focuses on structural regeneration. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining cell cultures and organoids, performing CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing, and preparing samples for Next-Generation Sequencing (e.g., scRNA-Seq). You will also conduct standard molecular biology techniques such as qPCR, Western Blotting, and immunofluorescence, while managing laboratory organization, including supply ordering and documentation. This position is ideal for an organized professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, international research environment. You will play a key role in supporting experimental workflows and training new team members on laboratory protocols. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to scientific publications and develop independent experimental skills within a prestigious research setting. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Biological Technical Assistant or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience with molecular biological techniques
  • Practical experience with mammalian stem cell cultures
  • Experience with CRISPR-Cas9-based gene editing and molecular cloning
  • Experience with electronic laboratory journals and digital ordering systems
  • Experience in creating libraries for Next-Generation Sequencing procedures
  • Experience with cryosectioning
