Job Summary

The University of Wuppertal is seeking a Research Associate (PhD Candidate) to join the Theoretical and Physical Chemistry research group. In this role, you will perform molecular dynamics simulations using the LAMMPS framework to investigate surface-induced dissociation of liquid droplets from ESI. Your core responsibilities include developing new force-field approaches for simulating large droplet aggregates, implementing open-source methods and libraries for simulation analysis, and contributing to the group through seminars and workshops. You will also be responsible for publishing scientific findings and conducting teaching assignments (4 LVS) while supervising student theses. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in conducting numerical simulations in molecular dynamics or related fields
  • Academic background in Computer Science, Chemistry, or Physics
  • Experience with MD frameworks such as LAMMPS, Gromacs, or AMBER
  • Initial experience in the construction and modification of force fields
  • Experience in academic research and presentation of findings
