Job Summary

As a Senior Scientist in Downstream Processing, you will be instrumental in advancing technological innovations within the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors. Your daily responsibilities will include developing downstream processes for recombinant cells and proteins within a regulated GMP environment, designing experiments using methodologies like Design of Experiments (DoE), and independently planning, executing, and evaluating experiments based on Quality by Design principles. You will also be involved in setting up and utilizing analytical and laboratory equipment for chromatography, filtration, and flow cytometry, processing samples, recombinant cells, and cell culture media, and meticulously documenting results and creating SOPs. Required Skills

Education

Degree in (Molecular) Biology, Chemistry, or a related field

Experience

  • Several years of laboratory experience in an industrial pharmaceutical environment (GMP) or during a doctorate
  • Practical experience with analytical methods in Downstream Processing (e.g., chromatography, filtration)
  • Experience in experimental planning (DoE) and sample handling (procurement, collection, preparation, and distribution)
  • Experience with software for statistical analysis (e.g., JMP, R) and lab-specific software
