Job Summary
As a Project Associate for the 'BIONEERS' federal project at the LVWO Weinsberg, you will play a central role in advancing ecological fruit growing. Your daily responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and evaluating field trials for apple, pear, and apricot cultivation both at the research facility and at pilot farms across Southern Germany. You will manage a network of ecological fruit producers, facilitate knowledge transfer through 'Stable Schools', and support farms with data collection. Additionally, you will organize professional training sessions and present research findings at conferences and meetings. This position is ideal for an agricultural or horticultural professional with a passion for sustainable farming, offering the unique opportunity to contribute to a long-term research initiative aimed at enhancing the resilience of the entire fruit production value chain.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Agriculture or Horticulture with a focus on fruit growing, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in ecological fruit growing and phytomedicine
- Experience in the design, execution, and evaluation of agricultural trials
- Experience in project coordination and stakeholder management
Languages
Additional
- Valid driver's license (Class 3, B, BE, and T); access to a private vehicle; willingness to travel to pilot farms throughout Southern Germany; must provide proof of equivalence for non-EU degrees via the ZAB (Central Office for Foreign Education).
