Job Summary

The BMW Group is offering a 36-month PhD position focused on the development of high-performance mobile connectivity for the automotive industry. As a PhD candidate, you will work on the architecture of next-generation 6G communication systems, specifically integrating Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) such as satellites, UAVs, and High-Altitude Platforms (HAPs). Your day-to-day work will involve researching and implementing communication protocols, applying machine learning and AI for network resource optimization, and developing mobility management solutions for automotive connectivity. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, academic partners, and international standardization bodies like 3GPP. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Natural Sciences, or a comparable qualification.

  • Experience in interdisciplinary teamwork and collaborative research environments
