Job Summary
As a Group Leader for Mass Spectrometry in Frankfurt, Germany, you will spearhead proteomics projects and internal R&D efforts within a highly collaborative scientific team. Your daily tasks will involve operating, quality controlling, and troubleshooting mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography equipment, as well as developing and implementing advanced LC-MS methods for both discovery and targeted analyses. You will work closely with bioinformatics teams on data interpretation, provide technical consulting to clients, and potentially manage customer projects. This role requires significant industry experience in bioanalytical or analytical chemistry, hands-on expertise with MS and LC equipment, and strong communication skills, offering a unique opportunity for professional growth at a market leader in applied proteomics and biomarker development.
Required Skills
Education
Degree in Bioanalytical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a natural science
Experience
- 8-10 years of industry experience in Bioanalytical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or natural sciences
- Leadership role within a commercial environment (preferred)
- Hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of mass spectrometry and LC equipment (ideally Orbitrap and Thermo Fisher MS instruments)
- Involvement in multiplexed discovery proteomics experiments, including analysis of post-translational modifications
- Initial experience in the development of targeted SRM and PRM methods for peptide analytes
- Small Team Line Management experience and/or leading scientific projects/collaborations (advantageous)
- Experience of working in a regulatory environment (e.g., GxP, GCLP, ISO) (advantageous)
