Job Summary

The Chair of Neuronal Computation at Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scientist to join a research team investigating the neural basis of adaptive sensorimotor behaviors in mice. In this role, you will conduct high-dimensional, multi-site neurophysiological recordings using Neuropixels probes and two-photon calcium imaging to map interactions between subcortical and cortical circuits. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and executing experiments, performing advanced data analysis to uncover circuit mechanisms, collaborating with the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology, and contributing to the development of novel analysis methods. You will also participate in student mentoring and teaching (4SWS). This position is ideal for a researcher with a strong quantitative background and expertise in in vivo neurophysiology who is eager to drive independent research projects within a multidisciplinary, internationally recognized neuroscience environment. The role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of circuit-level recording and computational modeling in a supportive, family-friendly academic setting.
