Job Summary

The Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Department of Aquatic Ecology in Bad Saarow. This role is part of the DFG-funded project 'MetaBoxWeb,' which aims to link high-frequency metabolic data with consumer production and food web structures. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include compiling and quality-controlling high-frequency sensor data, modeling ecosystem metabolism (GPP and ER) using R packages such as 'streamMetabolizer' and 'BASE,' and investigating temporal dynamics in metabolism-consumer relationships. You will collaborate closely with another postdoctoral researcher and contribute to the development of functional indicators for aquatic ecosystems. The position requires a PhD in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field, along with advanced programming skills in R. This role offers an excellent opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research within a dynamic university environment, with benefits including flexible working hours, mobile work options, and professional development support.
