Job Summary
The Mannheim University of Applied Sciences is seeking a dedicated Bioinformatician or Bioanalyst to join the CeMOS research and transfer center. In this role, you will work at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and advanced bioanalytics, focusing on spatial metabolomics. Your day-to-day responsibilities include developing computational software solutions, analyzing multimodal imaging data, and advancing technology platforms such as MALDI and QCL-MIR imaging. You will collaborate closely with industrial partners on applied research projects, manage project documentation, and contribute to scientific publications and grant applications. The ideal candidate possesses a strong academic background with a completed PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or Computer Science. You should be proficient in Python or R and have experience with AI/Machine Learning applications. Completed PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or closely related fields with excellent academic performance.
Experience
- Professional experience in instrumental analytics, specifically in optical spectroscopy or mass spectrometry, demonstrated through first-author publications.
- Professional experience in bioinformatics or bioanalytics, specifically demonstrated through relevant first-author publications.
- Experience in interdisciplinary team environments and collaboration with industrial partners.
- Experience in project management and grant proposal development.

- The position is a 100% full-time role (39.5 hours/week) and is initially limited to a one-year contract. Candidates must be eligible to work in Germany under the TV-L public service framework.
