Job Summary

The University of Passau is seeking a Head of User Services for its Center for Information Technology and Media Management (ZIM). In this leadership role, you will oversee the User Services department, managing personnel, budgets, and project coordination. You will be responsible for the strategic development of departmental themes, providing hands-on administrative support, and acting as a key interface for DFG projects and data protection negotiations. Additionally, you will manage apprentice training and represent the ZIM in state-level working groups. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent, ideally with a PhD) and possesses extensive experience in IT operations within large data center environments. You should demonstrate strong leadership skills, expertise in network and server infrastructure (including Windows, Linux, and VMware), and a collaborative approach.
