Job Summary

As the Head of Energy Systems at HOCHBAHN, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and developing the energy infrastructure for Hamburg's subway network. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of approximately 60 professionals, including craftspeople, maintenance staff, and project managers. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve overseeing the entire lifecycle of energy systems—from new construction and renewal to ongoing maintenance—while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. You will manage budgets, resources, and complex project phases (LPh 1-9) while serving as the primary liaison with authorities, grid operators, and engineering firms. This position is ideal for a seasoned leader with a background in electrical or energy engineering who is passionate about public transport infrastructure and wants to make a tangible impact on urban mobility. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in technical infrastructure management
  • Multi-year leadership experience in managing technical teams
  • Experience in project control and execution across all project phases (LPh 1-9)
  • Professional experience in public transport, energy utilities, network operations, or engineering consultancy is considered an asset
