Job Summary
As a Project Technician, you will play a pivotal role in the lifecycle of specialized industrial equipment and systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities include commissioning systems both at the factory and at customer sites globally, managing service and modernization projects, and performing remote software support and troubleshooting. You will be responsible for planning control system retrofits, coordinating service deployments, and ensuring comprehensive technical documentation. This role requires close collaboration with product development teams and serves as a primary technical contact for clients in the field. You will also contribute to knowledge management by maintaining databases and creating instructional documentation. This position is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys a mix of hands-on technical work, software-focused problem solving, and international travel, offering the opportunity to work in a collaborative, innovative environment with significant autonomy.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training/certification as a Technician (Techniker) in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience as a qualified Technician in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
- Proven experience in PLC programming, including independent control system development and error analysis.
- Professional experience in technical service, commissioning, or modernization of industrial equipment.
- Experience in creating technical documentation, specifications, and bills of materials.
- Experience in international environments with a willingness to travel globally for customer site support.
