Job Summary
This role is for a detail-oriented Fiber Optic Technician responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks. Key daily tasks include high-precision fiber splicing and connection technology in central offices (NE3) and cable distribution cabinets (NE4), along with the installation of passive optical components. The technician will conduct new installations, expansions, and fault rectifications, perform optical measurements for quality assurance and troubleshooting, and meticulously document all work. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality and safety. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training in Electronics for Energy and Building Technology, Information Electronics, or a comparable technical education (e.g., telecommunications)
Experience
- Professional experience in precise fiber optic splicing
- Professional experience working in central offices (NE3) and cable distribution cabinets (NE4)
- Good knowledge in the application of splicing devices and optical measuring devices (e.g., fiber optic measuring stations, OTDR, Power Meter/Light Source)
- Familiarity with relevant norms and guidelines (e.g., VDE, DIN EN50174, manufacturer specifications)
