Job Summary
As a Field Service Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a critical role in supporting genetic analysis systems within laboratory environments. Your day-to-day responsibilities include the installation, maintenance, repair, and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) of sophisticated laboratory instrumentation. You will provide both on-site and remote technical support, troubleshoot complex issues, and conduct user training to ensure clients can operate equipment safely and efficiently. Success in this role requires precise documentation of service activities in compliance with regulatory standards and a proactive approach to identifying system improvements. You will work independently, managing your own schedule while collaborating with internal teams and external partners. Required Skills
Education
Completed technical or scientific vocational training, preferably in electrical or medical engineering. A degree as a state-certified technician or engineer is desirable.
Experience
- Professional experience in a service function with life science or medical equipment is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Proven organizational and analytical skills in managing service workflows.
- Experience with digital tools, mobile applications, and modern service technologies.

- Valid Class B driver's license required. High willingness to travel (up to 75–100%). Ability to lift 40 lbs. without assistance. Must adhere to laboratory safety protocols and PPE requirements. Work is conducted from a home office base.
