Job Summary
The Diocese of Essen is seeking a dedicated Software Developer to join their IT department, specifically focusing on the reporting and registration division. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of software applications related to church registration systems, working in close collaboration with other diocesan data centers. Your daily tasks will include designing and implementing interfaces, optimizing data processes, ensuring data quality, and participating in modernization projects, including refactoring and the introduction of new technologies. You will work with a mix of legacy systems (such as Microfocus, COBOL, and VBA) and modern languages like C# and Python. Education
Completed Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field.
Experience
- Professional experience in software development
- Comprehensive programming experience in at least one programming language
- Experience with state or church registration systems is a plus
- Experience in network or server administration is a plus
