Job Summary

The Zoo Director will take full responsibility for the operational, professional, and organizational management of the Gotha Zoo. This role involves overseeing a team of approximately 22 employees and managing a six-hectare facility housing 70 animal species. Day-to-day responsibilities include strategic development, budget planning, cost management, and ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, hygiene, and safety. You will lead the modernization of the park, enhance the visitor experience through educational programs and events, and represent the zoo externally. A key aspect of the position is securing funding through sponsorships and grants while balancing zoological goals with economic sustainability. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a proven track record in zoo or leisure facility management.
