Job Summary

The Altenkirchen District Administration is seeking an Energy Technician or Master Craftsman to manage municipal energy systems, technical climate protection, and building management. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and implementing municipal energy management (KEM) systems, analyzing consumption data, and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements. You will oversee the optimization of heating systems and building control technology, while preparing annual energy reports to guide future sustainability initiatives. A significant part of your day-to-day will involve the planning, tendering, and site supervision of energy-related renovation projects for district-owned school and administrative buildings. You will also act as a key liaison, instructing facility managers and promoting energy-conscious behavior among building users. This position is ideal for a proactive professional who excels at independent work and is passionate about driving tangible climate protection results within a public sector environment. Required Skills

Education

State-certified Technician (Fachrichtung Bautechnik, Heizungs-, Lüftungs- und Klimatechnik, or Elektrotechnik) OR Master Craftsman (Meister) in Electrical, HVAC, or Plumbing fields.

Experience

  • Professional experience in energy management or building services engineering
  • Experience in planning and managing technical building renovations

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects systematically
