The Municipality of Dörverden is seeking a Head of Finance to lead the Finance Department (Fachbereich III). In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for the professional and disciplinary management of the department, ensuring the proper execution of all financial tasks. Key responsibilities include overseeing the preparation of the annual municipal budget, handling complex financial case management, providing strategic guidance on fundamental decisions, and managing local economic development initiatives. You will serve as a key point of contact for staff and collaborate closely with the municipal leadership team and political committees, often attending meetings outside standard business hours. Required Skills
Education
Successful completion of the Administrative Specialist Course II (Verwaltungsfachwirt) or a comparable degree in administrative business management or public administration.
Experience
- Professional experience in municipal administration is preferred
- Leadership experience in a comparable management role is highly desirable
- Experience in financial management and budget preparation

- Must be willing to attend political committee meetings outside of standard working hours. Employment is based on the TVöD public service collective agreement (up to salary group 12). Permanent residency or valid work permit for Germany is required.
