Job Summary
As a Field Service Engineer in our Data Center Management team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the backbone of our infrastructure in Berlin. Your daily responsibilities include planning and executing cross-connects, managing pre-cabling, and performing remote hands tasks for a diverse range of clients, from local businesses to global tech leaders. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of both passive data cabling (fiber optic/copper) and active IT components such as routers, servers, and IoT devices within our data center racks. A key part of your role involves troubleshooting, performing measurements, and ensuring precise documentation of network infrastructure. You will work in a collaborative, family-oriented environment that values professional growth and technical excellence. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented technician who thrives in a fast-paced data center setting, enjoys hands-on hardware work, and possesses the communication skills to support internal and external clients effectively.
Required Skills
Education
Technical vocational training (e.g., IT Systems Electronics Technician, Information Electronics Technician, or Communication Electronics Technician) or comparable qualifications.
Experience
- Professional experience in passive data cabling and the assembly/configuration of active IT components
- Technical education in IT systems electronics, information electronics, or communication electronics
- Experience with measurement tools and methods for data cabling infrastructure
Languages
Additional
- Valid driver's license (Class B) is highly preferred. Must be comfortable working in a high-pressure environment with a focus on accurate documentation.
