Job Summary
The Beilstein-Institut, a non-profit foundation based in Frankfurt, is seeking an IT System Administrator to join their international team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of Linux (Ubuntu, Suse) and Windows server environments, as well as client operating systems. Your duties will include network and firewall management, mail server maintenance, hardware setup, and providing technical support to staff both on-site and remotely. You will also manage IT infrastructure documentation, backups, and software licensing. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in IT administration, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to work independently within a collaborative, flat-hierarchy environment. Education
Completed IT vocational training, such as 'Fachinformatiker' (IT Specialist) or equivalent.
Experience
- 2-3 years of professional experience in IT administration
- Experience in the administration of Linux and Microsoft Windows environments and networks
- Practical experience in firewall configuration
- Exposure to mail server configuration

- Valid work permit for Germany is required. Must be based in the Rhine-Main area or able to ensure regular on-site presence.
