Job Summary

As a Development Engineer at Siemens Energy, you will play a pivotal role in the energy transition by analyzing and optimizing modulation algorithms for future power converters. Your daily responsibilities involve abstracting core challenges, managing hardware and software limitations, and ensuring product quality through rigorous testing across various levels (Unit, Integration, PiL, and HiL). You will work in a collaborative, expert-driven team to develop innovative modulation concepts for modular multilevel converters, DC-choppers, and solid-state breakers. Success in this role requires a strong background in power electronics and hardware-near programming, combined with the ability to design automated, class-based test environments. This position is unique as it offers the opportunity to directly impact the integration of renewable energies into electrical grids while working on cutting-edge HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) technology within a global, innovation-focused environment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (minimum 4-year program) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in power converter technology
  • Experience with large-scale object-oriented software projects
  • Experience with hardware-near programming (DSP, ARM, FPGA, AI Engines)
  • Experience in power electronics and energy engineering
