Job Summary

As an IT Specialist for the 'Digital Crime Scene Intervention Team' at the Cologne Police, you will play a critical role in combating cybercrime. You will be responsible for securing digital evidence at crime scenes, even in complex and dynamic environments, and performing real-time data analysis within a specialized mobile lab. Your day-to-day work involves close collaboration with law enforcement and public prosecutors to ensure that evidence is documented and processed in a court-admissible manner. You will also contribute to the development of new investigative methods and training concepts to keep pace with evolving cyber threats. This role is highly impactful, offering the chance to work on high-stakes cases involving critical infrastructure, such as hospitals and government networks. The position requires a high level of professional resilience, as you will be exposed to challenging and potentially distressing investigative materials. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, IT Security, or a related scientific field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT security or informatics
  • Experience in forensic data analysis or digital evidence handling is highly relevant
  • Proven ability to work with technical literature in English
  • Demonstrated capacity to handle high-pressure environments and complex technical structures
