Job Summary

The Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg is seeking a Research Associate to join the Professorship for Experimental Physics and Materials Science. This role focuses on the microstructuring of optical materials, specifically within integrated photonics, waveguide lasers, and optomicrofluidics. You will work on the development of innovative microfluidic components using lithium niobate, utilizing femtosecond laser-induced modifications and acoustic surface waves. Your day-to-day responsibilities include the independent design, fabrication, and experimental investigation of these systems in modern cleanroom and laser laboratories. Beyond research, you will contribute to academic teaching, participate in administrative self-governance, and publish your findings in international journals. Required Skills
